The laptop is also a laptop, that has most or all the features of a desktop computer, but is small enough to allow for mobility. Laptops run on AC or batteries such as NiMH, Nicad, or Li-Ion batteries for several hours.

As you can see in the picture, the Dell Latitude D610 laptop has everything you need for normal operation. It has an LCD screen, a keyboard, and a touchscreen. Although a laptop may have multiple external devices and attached cables, no external connection is required for normal use.
Currently, most laptops are thinner and lighter to compete with other devices such as tablets. Some laptops can also be called ultrabooks.

Later in 1986, IBM PCD announced that it was its first laptop, the Convertible PC, which weighs 12 pounds. Finally, in 1994 IBM introduced the IBM ThinkPad 775CD, the first notebook with integrated CD-ROM.

Apple's first laptop, the Portable Macintosh, was launched in September 1989. Because of its size and cost (about $ 6,500), it was not very popular.

Apple has focused on the development of laptops and launched in October 1991, the notebook family PowerBook on the market.

They released the PowerBook 100, the PowerBook 140 and the PowerBook 170, which were well received in the computer market.
